Privacy Policy
Effective date: 19 October 2026
This policy explains how Aussie Game Path handles personal information when you read our Australian gaming guides, contact our editors or choose browser preferences. It covers our own website and correspondence, so you can decide what to share and understand how to ask for help.
1. Who operates this site
Aussie Game Path operates aussiegamepath.com as an independent editorial guide to gaming websites available to Australian readers. We explain and compare third-party platforms; we do not operate those platforms or manage their player accounts. This policy applies to information handled by our editorial operation.
Send privacy questions to [email protected]. Our privacy contact reviews enquiries Monday–Friday, 09:00–17:00 Sydney time, excluding NSW public holidays. You can also telephone +61 2 8076 5148 or write to Aussie Game Path, Level 8, 115 Pitt Street, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia. General editorial correspondence can be sent to [email protected].
2. Information you share
Our enquiry form asks for your name, email address and message, with an optional phone number. Include only the details needed to explain your question. A submission acknowledgement confirms the website response; it does not by itself confirm email delivery, an editorial reply or permanent message storage. For a privacy request, use the privacy email above.
If you email us directly, your email address, message and any attachments become part of the correspondence we receive. Avoid sending sensitive personal information or details about someone else without their permission. Browsing our guides does not require a player account, payment information or identity documents.
The browser stores your consent choice using the entries below. These preference records are separate from your correspondence. A page request also necessarily supplies connection information, such as an IP address, to the server delivering it; this policy does not promise a separate visitor tracking or technical-log archive.
| Category | Examples | Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Enquiries | Name, email, optional phone and message | Aussie Game Path | Understand a question and respond through a working contact channel |
| Preference | Local storage: aussiegamepath_ | Aussie Game Path | Remember acceptance or rejection until cleared or reset |
| Preference | Cookie: site_cookie_ | Aussie Game Path | Remember the consent choice for up to 365 days |
3. Why information is used
We use correspondence to answer editorial enquiries, investigate reported errors and explain our comparison approach. A message about an inaccurate platform description may require an editor to review the relevant page and ask a follow-up question. We use a supplied phone number only where a call is useful for that enquiry.
Consent records let the site remember your preference between visits. Information supplied in a privacy complaint is used to investigate that complaint and communicate the outcome. An enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing. We do not turn contact messages into advertising profiles or publish a reader's personal details as part of a correction.
4. Choice and consent
We handle personal information with regard to Australian privacy law and the Australian Privacy Principles where applicable. We collect information reasonably needed for the enquiry you initiate, use it for that purpose and seek consent where optional processing requires it. We may also handle information where necessary to meet a legal obligation.
Optional browser storage requires a positive choice. Rejecting it keeps essential reading and navigation available. The necessary preference records remember either acceptance or rejection; accepting does not itself create a marketing subscription. Open Cookie Settings in the footer to review or change your choice. You can also clear cookies and local storage in your browser, after which the site may ask again.
You may withhold an optional phone number or limit your message. Without a usable reply address, we may be unable to answer an individual enquiry. Withdrawing consent affects future optional processing; it does not undo lawful handling that has already occurred.
6. How long information is kept
Our correspondence policy is to delete ordinary email enquiries 12 months after the conversation closes. We keep editorial correction decisions for 24 months to support consistent reporting, removing unnecessary contact details from the decision record. If a complaint or legal requirement needs a longer period, we retain only the relevant information for that purpose and review it when the matter ends.
The consent cookie lasts up to 365 days from the stored choice. The local storage preference has no automatic expiry and remains until you clear it or the site resets it. Browser settings may remove either record earlier. Changing your choice updates the active preference; it does not delete correspondence. To request deletion of correspondence, contact us and identify the conversation concerned.
7. Protecting information
We restrict access to correspondence to people who need it to answer requests, and use proportionate access controls and careful handling of attachments. Our editorial process favours recording the issue being investigated without copying unnecessary personal details into working notes. No website, email service or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.
Never send passwords, payment card details or identity documents with a routine enquiry. If you suspect that information you sent us has been exposed, email the privacy contact with the approximate date and nature of the concern. Do not resend the sensitive material. We will assess the issue and take appropriate steps, including notifications where required by law.
8. Access, correction and complaints
You can request access to personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct an error or request deletion. Email [email protected] with the request type and enough context to locate the correspondence, such as its date and subject. We aim to acknowledge requests within five business days and resolve them within 30 days, explaining any delay.
We use proportionate identity checks, usually by confirming control of the original reply address. We do not routinely ask for identity documents. Access or deletion may be limited by legal retention duties, another person's privacy or other applicable exceptions. If a limit applies, we will explain the reason and available next steps rather than treating the request as withdrawn.
If you are dissatisfied, ask our privacy contact to review the response. You may also raise a privacy complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), subject to its jurisdiction and complaint process. Nothing in this policy removes rights or remedies available under Australian law.
9. Younger readers
Our contact service is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly solicit children's personal information. Parents and carers should review each game's official age rating, online communication features and purchase controls before allowing use. An editorial comparison is not an age classification or parental approval.
If a child has sent personal information, a parent or carer can contact our privacy address to request its removal. Tell us enough to identify the message without including further sensitive details. We will review the request and use proportionate checks to protect the child and other people involved.
10. Updates to this policy
This policy takes effect on 19 October 2026. We will publish material changes here and update the effective date so readers can see when the policy changed. Where a change introduces optional processing requiring consent, we will seek a fresh choice before enabling it. Contact our privacy address if you need an explanation of a change or how it affects an existing enquiry.
